Who this is for
Parents, caregivers and early-years educators supporting children who communicate through speech, gesture, pictures, signs or AAC.

- Following a child’s lead and joining before directing
- Pausing and creating a reason to communicate
- Using visible choices and short, useful language
- Respecting gestures, pictures, signs and AAC
- Building communication into dressing, meals and play
- Knowing when to stop, reduce demand and support regulation
What to bring
One familiar play activity or routine you would like to make more interactive. No child is required to appear on camera.

This session provides general education. It cannot diagnose a child, recommend an individual treatment plan or replace care from a qualified professional who knows the child and family.
